And, I ‘d like you to share with me, one of these journey now…Please, have a sit, in this quiet old fashion train wagon.OrientExpCouchette

Voilà!First let me tell you the reason we are on this voyage^^.

At the time my grand-parents, Maurice and Marie-Therese Biard, decided I was enough old to inherit of a little family treasure, they opened an thrilling small package for me. It smelled like tea leaves passed by time. And looked like this:

Carnet Pierre Loti_photo Japon_S.B.And the story began.

My great great uncle SoeurArrGMèreBiardnéePoulain&ArrGOnclViaudViaud, left it to us, his descendants to take care of it. Grand father than wrote on the back of this upper photography this, just before, and at least I could have any look at  the inside: NoteMauriceBiard-dos photoThis was getting sooo exiting! My roots where giggling with impatience, and ancestors seeds glittered warmly. seed1seed3☺ A cup of tea? ☺

So, who was Julien Viaud, alias Pierre Loti? Let me tell you briefly, as you will find a lot about him on the Net, that he was a  very famous french adventurer and writer, member of the notable Academie francaise, as a marine officer. Everywhere he went around the world, he wrote his fictions about it, took photography, marrying here, and there beautiful and exotic woman.

LaTriomphante_Loti'sWarshipAs our journey continue, here is a picture of one of the warships he was on duty. I choose this one because, it’s the one with which, he came in Japan, and that is related to the precious photo album I inherited. And to the times he wrote his famous “Madame Chrysantheme”. loti_voyages

Look at this man now!P.LotiNuIncredible! He just enjoyed everything! Even posed for chocolate publicity.pubLoti

While my grandparents brought creamy cakes, and kept on telling the story, I now burned to, at least, open that smelly album on the table :p!. Here are for your eyes, few pictures of the cafe Loti in Istanbul, and other point of views of his universe:

Tic-tac-tic-tac…but yes, time is for me to exit our train and go back to my paintings ( night sky and a very big ship is pouring through theses ancestor spent time, so I must go on to my own journey with it^^).
I really, really, hope you enjoyed spending a bit of your time with me (us ;p), and I bet you have some beautiful old seeds of your own to share with!. As it says:

I’ll leave the last word to C.G.Jung, from

“Memories, Dreams, Reflections”

While I was working on my family tree, I realized the strange community of fate which connects me to my ancestors. I strongly feel to be under the influence of things or issues that were left incomplete or unanswered by my parents, my grandparents and my other ancestors. It often seems that there is a family in an impersonal karma that is passed from parents to children. I always thought that I also had to answer questions that fate had already asked my ancestors, but which had still found no answer, or that I had to finish or simply pursue problems earlier times left unanswered.

Thank you 🙂seedpubl3bébésjapon-1900seed1

Winter Peplum in Mexico

Inner Constellations, expanding images

“…a whole constellation of events must be fulfilled, for one human being to successfully advise or help another.”

Feeling my little space -Drawing  *Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a young          poet *

This is one segment of an infrared portrait of dust and stars radiating in the inner Milky Way. More than 800,000 frames from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope were stitched together to create the full image, capturing more than 50 percent of our entire gala

So…expending yes, but with some sens of responsibility,  because each sky  …   even and specially our inner ,  is related to other ones.

One treasure for each day

This first post will quite illustrate the way I see. Even in a morn gray first appearance, any day has its own hidden treasure. A precious one,  and that, just for you! Simples, few examples will follow.

From the movie “Amelie” (Le fabuleux destin d’Amelie Poulain, in french), ” Inception”, and some of my own little notebooks. It’s very simple and enjoyable. Now, let’s get into it:

So let’s say that you have just pulled yourself out of the pyjama, and are ready to take a cup of tea or coffee. Outside your window things are deeply grayed, maybe even opaque. It’s time to do the first thing to catch a treasure! How? By opening your attention to every detail around you. Yes, all of them! From inside to outside, or visa-versa.

Start with your own room. Take your time.  Just observe and be still. Notice things. Tea leaves, coffee drops, spider net. Expand with outside. The view from your window frame, the street (go outside), subway, offices, parks ( a huge place for this exercise!:p). Be and stay aware of how your perception is getting richer, how the plane gray you begin with your day is fading away…Cool!

Maybe it’s just a simple pattern on a dress or a tie on that man you crossed in the elevator, or the yellow glow of a marble on the ground, or the shape of a patch of ink your colleague dropped from his ink pen. It’s exponential. And it can be anything.

Anywhere.

The next thing to do, is to take time to “make it speak”, deliver it’s content in a way^^: Draw it. Question it. Read about it. Open your dictionaries, anthologies wide.  What does it symbolise? Does it recall you of something? Search within your own history and the History. Among movies too, strips, books…Look up at as many ramification as you want. I bet it’s roots are huge. Sometime it’s so enormous, that  it can take days to follow their treasure path.

Let’s see some examples:

amelie poulain nuage

– in “Amelie” film, the young girl find a  boy’s box  and see a rabbit among the sky . Childs sees easily narrative forms everywhere as hidden  treasures…signs…

drawing from a notebook,

– Now from my notebooks. This is a drawing I made after visiting a beautiful japanese private garden.

And another one simply after a glance at the mirror on the bathroom wall.

drawing, a rose out of an apple

inception's totem object

-” Inception”. Here  the spinning top of the hero,  acted by Leonardo di Caprio shows that his treasure-object, artifact, can be seen as Totem.  It became sense-maker,  it symbolise a link to and through the world  to the hero…

In conclusion, try to pay some additional  attention to everything around you. Place yourself in a very zen attitude, and if not expressing yourself, en-rich you and cheer ;)! Feel free to leave your comments.
